Incentives Available to Help Employers hire Long Term Unemployed Individuals
Funding is now available to provide On-the-Job Training (OJT). Ohio has received nearly $4 million to help employers hire and train job seekers who have been out of work more than 158 days and receiving unemployment compensation. Organizations can be reimbursed for the costs of training eligible new-hires based on a percentage of the trainee's wages during the training period. Research has shown that this OJT model increases productivity and worker retention rates.

This incentive is available to employers who hire individuals who have received unemployment compensation and have been out of work for more than 158 days. Other restrictions apply. Employers and position are evaluated prior to funding approval. To learn more about this opportunity, you may view the on-line brochure or contact Opportunity Links at 740-670-8700. The incentive is available only until June 30th, 2012.
